On Monday, 8th June, the children in Second Class at Craughwell National School enjoyed an exciting school tour to the Aquarium in Salthill, Galway.
The children explored the aquarium in small groups with the help of a knowledgeable guide, learning about the fascinating marine life found along Ireland’s coast. They then took part in a fun, cooperative problem-solving activity, where each group was challenged to design and build a flood defence system. Using a set budget, the children had to decide which materials to purchase before testing the effectiveness of their designs. The results were both creative and very interesting!
After our visit to the aquarium, we travelled by bus to Renville Park, where the children had great fun exploring the walled playground and enjoying the outdoor space.
Although the weather was rainy, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits. Everyone had a fantastic day filled with learning, teamwork and fun!
