Recently, our class took part in a meaningful Water Walk to raise funds for Trócaire. This experience helped us to better understand the daily challenges faced by many children and families around the world who do not have easy access to clean water.
As part of the activity, we filled bottles of water and carefully balanced them on our heads while walking together in solidarity with children in developing countries. Through this experience, we learned about the difficulties many children face every day as they travel long distances to collect water for their families. Often, these journeys can take hours and must be completed before school or other daily activities.
The Water Walk gave us a small insight into the hardship and responsibility that many children carry daily. It also helped us appreciate how fortunate we are to have clean running water readily available in our homes and schools.
By taking part in this fundraiser, we hoped to support the important work of Trócaire, who work to help communities around the world gain access to clean water, education, healthcare, and other essential resources.
