Over the past few weeks, we have been developing our creativity and artistic skills through a variety of exciting visual arts activities. We explored the world of printmaking and learned how artists use patterns, shapes, and texture to create unique pieces of art.
As part of our learning, we used Celtic crosses as a stimulus for our work. We carefully examined the intricate Celtic patterns and designs found on these ancient crosses and then created our own Celtic-inspired artwork. Using repeating patterns, bold lines, and detailed shapes, we designed beautiful and original prints that reflected our creativity and imagination.
We also learned about Rashane and Turlough, which are home to many species of birds and wildlife. Inspired by nature, we each chose a bird to investigate and study in more detail. We observed the colours, feathers, shapes, and features of the birds carefully before creating detailed observational drawings in our visual arts lessons.
This project helped us to improve our drawing skills and taught us the importance of observation and attention to detail in art. We enjoyed combining art, history, and nature in such a creative way.
